NJPSA Legislative Representation

NJPSA is your voice before the U.S. Congress, State Legislature, the Governor’s Office, the State Board of Education and other federal and state agencies on all issues affecting the quality of your professional lives and the public education system.

As a member, you have the advantage of a full–time government relations staff working for you. Our Government Relations department consistently analyzes, monitors and participates in the deliberations concerning proposed legislation, code provisions and policy affecting public schools and school leaders.

Our members have a direct voice in setting NJPSA legislative policy by participating on our Legislative Committee, Special Education, English Language Learners, Urban Education and other association committees. The Legislative Network is a statewide alliance of members who volunteer to communicate NJPSA’s positions on education to specific legislators across New Jersey.

Our Political Action Committee (NJPSA–PAC), which is funded through member contributions, enables our members to maintain a strong and consistent presence with our State Legislature. The NJPSA–PAC provides political contributions to help support elected officials who make decisions affecting your professional lives.

All NJPSA members are kept abreast of legislative events and our progress during the legislative session through legislative articles in our newsletters, special broadcast Action Alerts on emergent issues in the state and the NJPSA Legislative Agenda.
