Nicole Moore, President Elect, and Fidelia Sturdivant, Immediate Past President of the New Jersey Principals & Supervisors Association visited with several members of Congress earlier this week. Principal Moore & Principal Sturdivant had an opportunity to share their thoughts on the new Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) as well as to advance the need for full implementation and funding for the new law that replaces No Child Left Behind (NCLB). The two were joined by NJPSA Director of Government Relations Debra Bradley.
Ms. Sturdivant and Ms. Moore had an opportunity to meet with the following offices:
- Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman
- Congressman Thomas MacArthur
- Congressman Donald Payne
- Congressman Chris Smith
The visits were part of a national conference sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP).
