The New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association is pleased to announce that Michael Vinella, Ph.D., has been named Assistant Executive Director.
Dr. Vinella has been serving as NJPSA’s Director of Membership and Retirement Services, and he will continue to lead both departments as he takes on his new role. His expanded responsibilities will allow NJPSA to further strengthen member engagement, services, and long-term strategic initiatives.
Before joining the NJPSA staff, Dr. Vinella served as Principal of East Brunswick High School and was named New Jersey Principal of the Year Secondary Level in 2020. He also served on the NJPSA Board of Directors, including one term as its president in 2021-22.
“I am honored to take on this new role and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving NJPSA members in meaningful ways,” said Dr. Vinella. “This association has long been a professional home for me, and I look forward to building on the important work we are doing to support New Jersey’s educational leaders and to provide all the important, valuable services they depend on every day.”
NJPSA Executive Director Karen Bingert praised Dr. Vinella’s leadership and institutional knowledge. “Mike’s experience as a building leader, board president, and senior staff member gives him a unique and invaluable perspective,” said Bingert. “His commitment to our members, combined with his deep understanding of NJPSA’s mission and goals, makes him exceptionally well suited for this leadership position.”
