Dear NJPSA Members,
As we begin a new year, and in fact a new decade, it is time to reflect a bit on the recent past and look forward to a new future. I am very proud of the eight years I have served as your executive director of NJPSA. Your talent and dedication to your craft is inspiring, and I have been blessed to be associated with such outstanding professionals throughout my career. The state of educational leadership in New Jersey has never been stronger, and although it was very difficult to come to this decision, I feel that this is an appropriate time to announce my intention to step down from my position and allow for new leadership of the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association going forward.
My current contract ends on June 30, 2020, but I have committed to staying on for up to six months to ensure a smooth transition. A search committee comprised of Board members, previous Board presidents, and NJPSA staff has been established and will begin the process to select a new executive director shortly. It is my expectation that the chosen candidate will assume his/her duties sometime in the 2020 calendar year.
With the blessing of the Board, I will continue to work with NJPSA/FEA as a senior consultant on several key partnership projects that are already underway. In this capacity, I will continue to provide whatever assistance I can to further the mission of our organization.
While I will certainly miss my current role at NJPSA, I am looking forward to finding more balance and spending more time with my family, especially my grandson. Again, it has been an absolute pleasure to serve in this role, and I will continue to relish every moment until a full transition is assured. Thank you for your confidence in me throughout my tenure and for your unwavering commitment to our Association and to the children of New Jersey.
