NJPSA members took an active role in the property tax reform debate by testifying at the public session of the Joint Committee on Public School Funding Reform at the New Jersey Institute of Technology on October 17.
As part of the Legislature’s Special Session on Property Tax Reform the Legislature created four task forces to evaluate key areas of reform–pensions and health benefits state constitution/property tax convention regionalization/consolidation and public school funding reform. The public school funding reform committee is examining changes to CEIFA and other school funding laws. Each task force will hold at least two public meetings for testimony from interested members of the public.
