NJPSA testified before the Assembly and Senate Budget Committees on March 21 and 22, raising concerns with diversion from the School Funding Reform Act (SFRA) as well as the need for a systemic funding solution for the current pension shortfall.
The Association urged both panels to consider repealing the administrative cap, create an exemption to the current tax levy cap for extraordinary special education costs, and consider a significant investment in early education.
In addition, the Association expressed support for several per pupil funding pockets created last year, the per pupil growth aid as well as the PARCC readiness aid and outlined the benefit of the Professional Learning Community Aid.
