NASSP is helping lead an effort to create a National COVID-19 School Response Dashboard that will provide educational leaders and policymakers with information on how schools are reopening and what factors contribute to safe reopening.
The dashboard will collect baseline information on schools as the year progresses and then follow them over time to record enrollments, staffing and COVID-19 cases. The baseline survey should take no more than 10-20 minutes, and the bi-weekly surveys have only five questions.
The goal of the Dashboard is to make data immediately useful. De-identified data will be available publicly in a navigable dashboard within a week of data entry. In addition, once the effort kicks off participating schools will be provided with feedback illustrating the situation in their school along with some comparisons from the local area. The more participation, the more useful the data and analysis in the Dashboard will be. Please consider participating if possible.
This effort is a collaboration between AASA, The School Superintendents Association; the National Association of Secondary School Principals; the National Association of Elementary School Principals; Brown University Professor of Economics Emily Oster; and Qualtrics, the experience management company, and all are committed to making the data entry straightforward and simple.
More information about the National COVID-19 School Response Dashboard can be found here.
If you would like to participate in this data collection effort, the survey is now live for principals and assistant principals.
