Governor Chris Christie signed legislation, P.L. 2017, c.84 (A-4019 / S-2491), that allows a student who has completed all requirements for high school graduation and has completed basic training for, and is an active member of, the military to wear the dress uniform issued to him or her by a branch of the United States Armed Forces to the graduation ceremony.
With enactment of the new law, New Jersey joins Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and California in allowing military dress at graduation ceremonies.
The legislation is effective August 1st.
