NJDOE Acting Commissioner Lamont Repollet has announced a statewide Listening Tour on the issue of student assessment, and NJPSA members have an important role to play in this discussion! After all, you have been deeply engaged in assessment issues for years, and your expertise is vital. Therefore, NJPSA is pleased to invite you to participate in two very important discussions on the future of student assessment in New Jersey, which will take place at the FEA Conference Center, 12 Centre Drive, Monroe, NJ.
To provide a forum for member involvement, NJPSA is hosting a principals and supervisors focus group discussion on assessment on Friday, June 8th from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The discussion will be led by senior staff at the NJ Department of Education, and NJPSA staff will work as partners to capture the discussion.
In addition, NJDOE will hold a collaborative discussion on assessments with diverse stakeholders, including principals, teachers, parents, and the community as a whole at the FEA Conference Center on Tuesday, June 26 from 4 pm to 6 pm.
Please respond to Stacy Barksdale Jones at sbarksdale@njpsa.org to confirm your attendance at either of these events. In the event you wish to bring a colleague from your district, please provide the names and contact information to us when you confirm your attendance.
Thank you for your active involvement with NJPSA on this critical issue!
