The state Senate approved legislation, A-4386 / S-3042 (Coughlin / Pinkin / Vitale / Singer), that would allow a school board candidate to run as a slate. The measure, approved, 34-1, now heads to the governor’s desk.
The bipartisan bill would allow candidates to jointly circulate nominating petitions and be identified as a group on ballots. It would also allow candidates to print a nonpartisan slogan of up to three words on the ballot to represent their slate.
