Foundation for Educational Administration (FEA)
The Foundation for Educational Administration, Inc. (FEA) is the professional development division of the NJPSA. Committed to providing its members with sustained, coherent professional growth, FEA supports research-based practices and enhances the spectrum of leadership for the purpose of continuous school improvement. Through workshops conducted at the FEA Conference Center, in-district workshops, online courses, the annual Fall Conference, the New Jersey Leadership Academy, and other professional learning programs, FEA addresses critical and emerging issues in educational leadership and provides the training administrators need to excel and grow in their profession.
FEA also houses three important NJPSA programs: LEGAL ONE, the leading provider of school law training for educators; NJEXCEL, an innovative state-approved program that provides alternatives to the traditional graduate coursework required for supervisor certification and the master’s degree in educational administration that has been required for principal and school administrator certification; and NJ Leaders to Leaders (NJ L2L), a state-approved comprehensive mentoring and induction program for new school leaders that provides trained mentors and a range of continuing professional development programs and services to support new school leaders in the successful completion of the state-required two-year Residency for Standard Principal Certification.
New Jersey Leadership Academy
Now in its third year of meeting the professional development needs of today's educational leaders, the New Jersey Leadership Academy (NJLA) offers educational leaders the opportunity to learn together and participate in sustained, collaborative, and structured professional development throughout the year. Job-alike cohorts of Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Principals, Assistant Principals, Directors, and Supervisors will take three core courses together, focused on the major educational reforms. In addition, each participant will take two electives to meet individual, school, or district goals. The cohort approach will allow you to learn from colleagues in your position, as well as other leadership positions, giving you a broader view of the education landscape. The Academy will provide each participant with an easily adaptable Professional Development Plan linked to the content of the core courses aligned to New Jersey Standards.

CAR - Connected Action Roadmap
You need a well-aligned curriculum that takes a comprehensive approach to strategically integrating standards, effective instruction, assessment, professional learning, and evaluation. Using an easy-to-follow and easy-to-remember roadmap as a metaphor to describe the various components of the training, CAR works in every type of school district in New Jersey. Superintendents, principals, directors, supervisors and teachers, who believe that the process for increasing student achievement must be coherent, connected, and systemic, should register for CAR training. David Hespe, former commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Education, endorsed the CAR framework, saying, “CAR is the vision for teaching, leading, and learning in New Jersey schools."
