The New Jersey Treasury Division of Pension and Benefits (DPB) released guidance materials on the recently enacted pension and benefit changes June 29 P.L.2011 c.78 [S-2937 (Sweeney)] and P.L.2011 c.79 [S-2959 (Sweeney)]. The Division of Local Government Services in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Education will be issuing supplemental guidance for local units that are not members of SEHBP in the coming weeks.
Division of Pension and Benefits Guidance
DPB's released initial implementation guidance on changes to pensions and health benefits for public employees as effectuated by recent enactment of P.L.2011 c.78 [S-2937 (Sweeney)] and P.L.2011 c.79 [S-2959 (Sweeney)]. Important implementation details on the employee health benefit premium sharing is posted on the Pensions website FAQ page. The site also contains links to the law and Certifying Officer Letters that will be issued over the coming weeks. The site will be updated regularly as the Division moves through implementation of the new law. DPB will post information and links to this page as they become available. Please check back for the most recent updates.
Over the next few weeks the Division of Local Government Services and Department of Education will be issuing supplemental guidance for local units that are not members of the SHBP or SEHBP to address differences between the state plans and local options and circumstances.
