NJPSA Statement in Support of S-2015 (Sarlo) / A-3482 (Schaer)

MONROE, NJ – The statewide membership of the NJ Principals and Supervisors Association, representing over 7,000 active and retired school principals, assistant principals and supervisory employees who lead our public schools, urge every state legislator to vote in support of S-2015 (Sarlo) /A-3482 (Schaer).

The proposed State Budget legislation, developed in the challenging economic climate of a significant State budget deficit, takes a strong step forward to responsibly address the diverse needs of New Jersey’s citizens.

The proposed budget legislation recognizes the State’s obligation to fund the needs of such critical state institutions as our schools and hospitals, while addressing its legal and moral commitment to the public employees who serve our students, and our citizenry.

We thank and commend Senate President Sweeney and Speaker Prieto for their leadership in developing a Budget plan, in close collaboration with Senate Budget and Appropriations Chair Sarlo and Assembly Budget Chair Schaer, that will promote New Jersey’s positive fiscal reputation, develop new revenue streams to meet critical state needs and move our state forward on the road to long-term fiscal stability and prosperity.
